Meet Chef Black
Chef Andrew Black–a 2023 James Beard Award winner for Best Chef Southwest, and a 2022 James Beard Award semifinalist for Outstanding Chef–is a chef, restaurateur, and entrepreneur in Oklahoma City. He is proud to return to Skirvin Hotel to open his new restaurant, Perle Mesta—an immersive and impeccable dining experience.
Chef's Return to Skirvin
Chef Black began his career in Oklahoma at Skirvin in 2007, on the heels of the renovation and reopening. During his time here, he successfully launched the Park Avenue Grill with a focus on locally grown produce and meats. He traveled around the state to visit with farmers, eventually starting a farmer’s market in the park across the street from the hotel. Now, he is proud to return to Skirvin for an unimagined experience at Perle Mesta.
Chef's Vision
Chef Andrew Black’s work has brought him from his home in Jamaica to kitchens in Paris and beyond. His vision for Perle Mesta is to create a beloved beacon of the city—a world-class destination where guests are welcomed into an iconic dining experience built on a foundation of empathy and integrity.
